I've just had this scam trick played on me. Three of them came to look at the car i had on sale. One asked to see the engine, so I opened the bonnet, another then asked if it had a spare wheel and could they see it. Whilst I was showing him the spare wheel one of the others must have squirted dirty oil into the coolant. When we got back from a test drive the person buying the car wanted to look under the bonnet again. This time the coolant was black and he was spinning some story about the head gasket being blown and could be buy the car for a tiny figure. I said no and he kept on and on with the reduced amount. I said that I thought he had got oil in the coolant, but he was denying it. Eventually they left and rang several more times about the annoyingly low amount. I them saw this post and realised it must be a common trick.
Next time I'll ask the other two to stay in their car and I'll ask to take a photo of the guys driving licence.
I am really annoyed and very angry.
Now I have to change the coolant and I'm worring that they might have put water in the oil or something else stupid like that.
