I have a 2006 E85 UK market car with 2 litre 4 cyl. The owners hannbook describes how the oil level should be tested and a display on the dash. I get nothing when i push the indicated button. can anyone with this same model enlighten me as to if it is actually fitted and if there is some trick to get it to read. many thanks

Hi welcome to the forum. I also have a 20i 4 cyl.
When I first got my car I looked everywhere for the dip stick found out they are electronic
What you have to do as I’m aware it on start up when engine is running press the left button near speedo and it runs a cycle if it’s ok it says ok
Hope I’ve got this right for you it’s definitely one of the buttons near the Speedo.
Hope this helps.

It’s the right hand button, the one that has a small clock symbol. As above engine warm and running on level ground.

The button can also be used to indicate the brake fluid change date. When you move the key to the ignition position the cluster automatically shows the service mileage countdown, press the clock and it will show the date for brake fluid. Not what you asked but maybe useful

Yes, my E86 has the same arrangement for the oil level - but it won't work until I've driven it at least 4 miles to get it up to temperature.
