Oil filter stupid question

Never had to ask such a daft question before, so apologies.
Recently acquired 03 plate 3.0.
Went to do an oil service and the supplied filter (from Opie oils) was too small. Lengthwise about right, but smaller internal and external diameters than the one on the car, and the internal diameter was too narrow to fit over the cage in the lid. Ended up having to refit the old one to get me out of trouble.
Ordered a replacement from Euros - exactly the same.
Bosch part supplied by both Euros and Opie against the reg no was P7003 (1 457437003). I couldn't see a part number on the one fitted to the car, unfortunately.
Any help/suggestions gratefully received.
Cheers in advance :)

That’s for an N52!
You need the HU 925/4 X as Usel said
OK cheers, cancelled that one.
I need to take the filter back off the car and measure it, or try and find some identifying markings on it. The measurements of the 925/4 X are similar to the measurements of the Bosch ones I bought (against the reg no), but they are definitely visibly smaller (narrower both in ID and OD) than the one on the car. The ID is narrower than the plastic cage on the inside of the cover and it won't slide over.
Something very odd going on here.

I did exactly the same last week. Bosch from Opie Oils was too small. Mann fitted perfectly.

Mann filter arrived. Pictured next to the Bosch. These are both listed for the same car but look at the difference.

The easier method to get the correct part number is to use realoem.com then search for that.

Otherwise you have plenty of opportunity for people to give you the wrong part reference. I use MANN for filters and their catalogue is very good when you have the OE part number.
