So, I'm going to have a pop at this... can anyone tell me definitively if i need to do a coolant change as there seems to me a fair bit of conflicting information and Id rather not if at all possible
Thanks in advance

I am sure there are more knowledgeable people than me but firstly not sure what a coolant change has to do with the oil filter housing. As for a coolant change the effectiveness of the antifreeze reduces over time and the strength can be easily measured on one of the devices that sucks up a bit of coolant and you can read the strength - very cheap to buy. I then tend to syphon of some coolant from the header tank and replace with antifreeze . I am not that keen with draining all the coolant as new water will have impurities and chalk etc which can then fur up the engine waterways.

The oil cooler is attached the oil filter housing but on the 2.0 its at the top of the engine so laws of physics means that you lose very little coolant.
