Oil filler cap

Just gone out and taken pictures of my N52 in my 3 series for comparison. Wear lines below the filler cap, which is difficult to get off, appear to be the same so don’t think you’ve anything to worry about re that.

The smoke is because even though it’s sitting halfway on the gauge, it’s still bloody hot.

Re the oil change, how long ago was it done?

Engine temperature sounds fine, what size engine did you go for.
You need to expand your photo image to include the whole car by the way

Edit
Just seen your other post about your new purchase, very smart.
For peace of mind, do an engine service asap

Calling all experts:
Are E85 engines generally fitted with a magnetic sump plug to catch small particles of metal ?
If not, what is the diameter of the plug, so I can order one (N52 engine) ? Thanks.
