Oil dipstick for 35i

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a dipstick fitted? I'm old fashioned that way and I would like to be able to see that the oil is looking fresh and that it has actually been changed when the car has been for a service etc.

Also is there a normal conventional drain on the sump or is the oil pulled up using a vacuum pump?

Hmmm I would be surprised if you could do it economically. You could see the condition of the oil by looking into the filler cap though

I would say if you cannot trust your garage to change the oil at a service - Change your garage!

my md at work and suspicion his main dealer hadn't changed the oil on his car (not BMW) argued with them and they changed the oil again :o

Did he ever use them again tho?

I don't think I would!

Then you have to choose your garage enen more carefully -I had to and it is a goodun! Dont have to worry, its all done, even down to silly little details like changing the clock to BST :)

where do you use for service cooper Durham? I use Teesside they are ok but not great at finding faults etc

Yes, Cooper in Durham (Belmont Business Park) Martin and Wendy on the front desk are both very pleasant people to deal with and treat you like a customer - Not just as a job number!
When I've had work done on my E85, its always been done to my satisfaction and I've never had to go back.

Two days prior to a holiday last year I thought I'd bust a spring. I phoned them and called in and when I got there they had a spring ready waiting and a ramp available ready to fit ( It wasn't a broken spring - but that's another story)

I'm going to visit them with the E89.
