Changed the oil cooler gasket today.
PITA :headbang: 3 hour job because of the tight awkward spaces. Worth it though. Was causing over heating which I initially thought was the waterpump or stat. Turns out she was pissing coolant and oil out at over 4500rpm.

Now probably going to need a new serpentine belt because I spilt oil all over this one while taking off the cooler. Would brake cleaner be a good idea to use to clean oil off the pulleys when replacing the belt.

Looks like what I’ve got on my N53. Oil filter gasket and oil cooler gasket. Preparation is the key. I removed belts and had plenty of towels and rags available.

You did well if you don’t break your Mickey mouse flange. I did and needed to get a whole new hose. I cleaned everything after with plenty of brake cleaner and old towels. Once oil free another blast to get rid of any towel fibres.

One thing in hindsight I’d have done is lube up the gaskets ever so slightly.

If you’ve already got your belts oily I’d blast everything with brake cleaner and look to replace belts very soon. Depends how frequently you drive. Had an oil leak on a work vehicle once and the belt absorbed oil and would constantly fling oil over the engine bay. Not a vast amount mind. But they were too tight to do the belts. On a personal car, you don’t want your belt slipping.
