oil color and milage

Hi i am looking to buy a second car and i found a mazda 2 with automatic transmission from 2012 which is a japanese import. I got it today to my mechanic for an inspection and he said that due to the fact that the automatic transmission oil has become darker in color this suggest that the vehicle has done more than 50k km probably around 70-80 and it is clear that the car has been clogged as it shows 20k km on the odometer. Is the oil color a good indication of milage and do you believe this is a high milage car or is it ok to go for it? If that milage is true then possibly the car has been doing mostly motorway journeys which i believe are better for a car.
 
i should think thats only a pointer & is not that precise a method, pay more attention to the condition of the car & that will tell you more.

If you're unsure about the hisory, walk away. Personally I wouldn't touch an import unless it was VERY cheap.
