Oil choice ?

I've just bought a 2006 3.0 Si that has done approximately 1.5k miles in the last 3 years due to owners ill health. Current mileage is 95k miles. Going to do a fluids and filter change next week.

Should this affect my choice of oil or just go for a 5w-30 LL04?

Already ordered some Bosch filters

The handbook for my 330i with the same N52 engine says LL01 or LL04 so anything that meets that specification should be fine.

I’d recommend Motul 5w40 8100 LL04, personally.

I’ve always used Millers EE Performance Oil 5w40 which is LL-04 Spec.

Never had an issue over the course of 3/4 oil changes.

Castrol Edge and Magnatec seem to reduce the infamous N52 tick for me.
