oil change

Hi, I'm thinking about doing on oil change,on my 4 pot z4, and I was wondering, what's the best oil to use.?
A mate of mine is telling me to use liqui moly, top tec, 4200 5w 30. As I've never heard of this, I'm a bit dubious of using it, and can't find any reference on this z site about it. I just wondered, if any 1 on here has used, it, and could give me some feed back on it?

Scroll down a little bit and you'll see a copied email from BMW regarding recommended oils :thumbsup:
 
There was a pretty detailed thread about it somewhere. Castrol Edge used to be recommended by BMW but they have changed to Shell now... Mobil 1 is a good oil from what I remember of the testing. That said I'd prefer a cheaper oil that meets the spec changed more frequently than going by the service indicator.
 
Internet search shows Liqui Moly recommended for Mitsubishi and Mazda but nothing for BMW :wink:
 
I've always used Castrol edge 5w30, for my next change I am thinking of going to 10w40 as ive been advised that it may help with mine burning oil.
