Ok I know I keep firing questions on here but you guys have been alot of help on here, if i ever meet any of you il buy you a pint or two, or three! ...I'm going for an oil change & wondering what is recommended. Is Slick 50 still recommended to put in with the oil change? Cheers guys.

Stick with recommended spec LL04 oil. Castrol edge 5-30 or similar.
How many miles has the engine done and what engine btw?

It's very advisable to only use the oil recommended by BMW. These engine's longevity are dependant on the synthetic oils which can withstand higher temperatures than fossile oil. Not sure if you should be using any additives either - might cause problems with synthetic oils

Do not use Slick 50 or any other additives. Just good quality fully synthetic oil to the correct spec and change regularly. That is all.

Another low mileage 3.0 Z
The oil isn't cheap but its the only thing that you want to use. The quality of the oil and the relatively short oil service interval will look after the engine.
.
I check out deals and buy when I can get a good price. I was looking to buy a 20 litre drum (off ebay) but not sure if it was counterfeit. Its pretty easy to forge labels these days and slap it on a black plastic drum and it seemed a little too cheap too me.
Costco was selling twin 4 litre packs of edge for about £40 so I bought mine there

My mate works at a garage nearby and he said he can get it cheap for me. So going to get it done this weekend.
Said he can possibly get a good discount on Goodyear Eagle F1 run flats too.

Instead of a pint just get some cheap oil
Why are you buying RF''s btw??? :?

Haha. Yeah il start some Middle East oil deals for every post lol.
What's wrong with getting RF's? I assume not having a spare its a good idea?

What's wrong with run flats??????? ...........Do a search
RF's cause the Z to handle like its possessed by the 'ditch magnet'

Yes the spare wheel is issue.................... but when was the last time you had a puncture?

They are hard wearing.............you have that
They also last along time............ :)

Nothing wrong with RF's. I have Michelin PS2 ZP's and not had a bit of handling or tramlining issues at all, ride is great also. Original RF's were a P.O.S. so I think it's up to the individual on preference. After all...it's a "sports" car. :|

I stand corrected.
Yes its always up to personal choice :|
The UK roads don't shape up to the in the way that we repair or re-lay our roads or our problematic weather systems in the UK
My personal choice driving in the Scottish Borders with temperatures from -10 to +24 deg C is non run flats
Another ellipsoids fan ......good man!

Roads here are not that bad since we hardly see snow and ice, so this does help with the ride of the car. We do have some areas where the roads are in bad shape...try to avoid them. Love the ellipsoids, makes the car. :D
