OIL CHANGE RECOMMENDATION

There is probably a thread, or numerous threads on this topic but here goes anyway.
As i do very little mileage in my car and it is usually put to bed in the winter months should i change the oil annually
due to the fact that the vehicle spends a lot of time on my drive rather than being driven, or follow service recommendations?
I probably clock a thousand miles a year.

Only a 1000 a year - that's going to be one of the lowest mileage 2.0i Sports available. :thumbsup:

If it was me I'd be doing the servicing by time rather than mileage. Seems a shame to be draining oil that's only done a couple of 1000 miles but it will look much better when resale time comes . . . . . does oil degrade over time?
 
I change oil and filter between 5 and 7.5k, so it works out about every 6 months for me. I'd be changing annually if I was doing less than that.

Short journey's in winter can allow water contamination of oil due to condensation so no real need to alter the schedule if its off the road during colder months
I always look to switching oil springtime on my weekenders for this reason although probably overkill :?
 
1,500/2,000 per annum here and garaged over winter.
As per Mr W, every spring Oil &Filter every other spring oil & filter coolant and brake fluids.
 
I do, on average, under 1500 per year, but still swap the oil myself annually - it doesn't cost much or take long so why not? The normal scheduled dealer services & brake fluid get done at the 2 year intervals
