Oil change interval reduced by BMW on new Z4?

The oil change interval on the iDrive for my 2016 35i indicates oil service at 9K miles. Different than the 15K oil service interval on earlier models.
 
I just ordered at 28i and the order sheet still says 15K. I wonder if there were some issues with 15K oil changes on the 35i Z4s?
 
CA indicates that oil change intervals were reduced to 10k miles on nearly all 2014 and newer BMW models over a year ago. He also indicates that he does not know why most BMW ordering guides still list 15K oil change intervals.
 
Just yesterday picked up my 2010 35is from oil change and the computer says 25000 km which is about 15k miles.
 
They would if it is on a 3 year lease which seems to be popular.

have no choice if you have bought with the service pack option, bmw wont change the oil any sooner unless you pay for it
