Oil change directions?

This is an embarrassingly simple question, but after reading much ado about the subject (without any credible information), does anyone have a step by step instruction for an oil change on the Zed? I plan to use Castrol Edge 5-30W, and have heard bad things about Fram filters(??), so I guessI will bite it and go to the stealer for the filter(other recommendations?). Other questions:
1. Oil drain plug (17mm) location? Little door under engine?
2. Will I need to reset service clock?
3. Any particular issues with filter change?
4. Filter housing wrench size (32mm?)
5. Any other secrets I should be aware of?

I plan on pulling the car upon ramps (yes I have some that fit), but don't have a Mityvac or similar,so I plan on removing drain plug. I have done this many times on other cars, but first time on the Zed. Just can't stand the thought of 7500, or 10,000, or 15,000 miles between oil changes.

Thanks.

I think most of us change sooner than what BMW recommends. This is one of the easiest cars to do, especially with the filter on top. Forgot the size for the plug, but the filter is 36mm. To reset service interval, see shipkiller's page: Reset Just from what I've heard, I'd avoid the Fram.

Sump plug contains a crushable washer that should come with the filter. Don't forget to use it.

The bmw oil filter comes with both the crush washer and a new rubber gasket for the filter housing :) Was quite cheap ~£8.

I think they all do, but people tend to forget or try to reuse the old one.

£8 is good for OEM.iirc Halfords are about £7, so def a case of going original
