Hi all i think i have a problem with my service records and need some constructive help.
Car Pre- delivery inspection 15/9/06
Brake fluid and oil service carried out 25/2/10 ( 5808 miles)
THE ABOVE CARRIED OUT BY BMW DEALER INITIATED BY PREVIOUS OWNER

I bought the car 24/4 12 ( 11,618 miles)
Diagnostic check and brake fluid change carried out 15/10/12 i was told by indie that oil change was not required at this stage.
I am now due an MOT and possibly an oil change the car has just clocked 14,000 miles so i need to know your thoughts, do i need to be looking
at additional work because of the age of the car?
The car is as you can imagine, like new, even smells new but i am concerned that because the mileage is so low i have missed a trick.
Its always been garaged up until last 12 months and as you can tell hardly used prior to me purchasing it which has now become a concern
that with your help, hopefully i can rectify.
Thanks Paul

It should have been:

Oil / Brake fluid 15/9/08 (missed)
Oil / Brake fluid 15/9/10 (done on 25/2/10)
Oil / Brake fluid 25/2/12 (missed) - brake done 8 months late.
Brake fluid: 25/2/14 (missed)

So asap, Oil and brake fluid needs to be done. Brake fluid attracts water and even when parked, will eat the brake pipes from the inside.

you should have the cars oil changed every two years minimum regardless if it doesnt cover many miles, same with the brake fluid.

I would personally get a full inspection 2 service done for piece of mind.

I'm no expert, but as above. I've recently had an oil service done at a BMW specialist. Chatting to them, they advise an oil service every 2 years minimum, the car itself counts down from 16k to its next oil service. If your car hasn't has it done since 2010, it's well over due. Many people on here change it every year.

As they say above, get an Insp 2 done to play it safe.

Unfortunately this now makes your car worthless and if you try and sell it in the future regardless of it's immaculate condition and 'like new' state it will only ever fetch the equivalent of a bag of Haribo.

:poke:

There is no need for an inspection 2. Air filter won't need changing and most other things are just checks which will get picked up at MOT time or you will know yourself.

Undercarriage
Change oil and oil filter while engine is at operating temperature.
We recommend BMW High Performance 5W-30 Synthetic oil, p/n 07 51 0 017 866
Check transmission for leaks.
Check rear axle for leaks.
Half shafts: Check for leaks at flexible boots.
Visually check fuel tank, lines and connections for leaks.
Check condition, positioning, and mounting of exhaust system. Examine for leaks.
Check power steering system for leaks. Check p/s fluid level; add fluid if necessary.
Check overall thickness of front and rear disc brake pads using special tool. Record results. If replacement is necessary*:
Examine brake disc surfaces. Clean brake pad contact points in calipers. Grease wheel centering hubs. Check thickness of parking brake linings only when replacing rear pads. Record results.
Check brake and clutch system connections and lines for leaks, damage, and incorrect positioning.
Check steering for absence of play, condition of suspension track rods, front axle joints, steering linkage and joint disc.
Check parking brake actuation. Adjust if necessary.
Check all tire pressures (including spare - except M3, M5, Z8 and Alpina). Correct if necessary. Check condition of tires (outer surfaces [left/right]), tread wear and pattern; in case of uneven tread wear readjust wheel alignment if requested.*
Note:If requested rotate all four road wheels as instructed and rebalance.*
Inspect entire body according to terms of rust perforation limited warranty (must be performed at least every two years).
Engine Compartment
Read out diagnostic system.
Check engine cooling system/heater hose connections for leaks. Check coolant level and antifreeze protection level; add coolant if necessary.
Note: Coolant must be replaced every 4 years (time interval begins from vehicle's production date).
Check level of brake and clutch fluid in reservoir. Add fluid if required.
Replace brake fluid every 2 years (timing interval begins from vehicle's production date).*
Check windshield washer fluid level and antifreeze protection. Fill up and/or correct if necessary.
Check air conditioner operation.
Replace microfilter.
Note: reduce replacement interval in dusty operating conditions.
Reset Service Indicator.
Replace intake air cleaner element.
Note: Reduce replace interval in dusty operating conditions.
Body/Electrical Equipment
Check battery state-of-charge, and charge if required.*
Check lighting system, i.e., headlights, foglights, parking, back-up, license-plate, interior (including map reading lights), glove box, flashlight, illuminated make-up mirrors, luggage compartment lights.
Check instrument panel and dashboard illumination.

Check wipers and washer system(s);wiper blades, washer jet positions.
Check condition and function of safety belts.
Recharge or replace batteries for remote controls in all vehicle master keys.
Check central locking/double lock.
Check operation of all latches.
Check heater/air conditioner blower fan, rear window defogger.
Check rear view mirrors.
Visually examine the SRS airbag units for torn covers, obvious damage or attachment of decals, decorations or accessories.
Activate automatic roll-over protection system (if equipped) via diagnostic link.
Note:First remove hardtop/lower top.
Final Inspection
Road test with check of brakes, suspension, steering, clutch/manual transmission or automatic transmission (except M3, M5, and Z8).

I think an Insp 2 was mentioned because apart from the pre-delivery inspection, that's been it for 8 years. I know it's a low mileage motor, but surely you'd still look at this for the car's service history?
