Oh No!! Not Again ?!

Well having spent a few hours this week polishing and waxing my zed to get it looking like this

I decided to go for a little spin.
I'd got half a mile down the road and slowed at a narrow point to let traffic through when BOOM! a red citroen van clattered into the side of my car as he reversed out of a drive without looking in his mirrors. :(
So that's the second time I've been hit in 2 months after 20 years with no claims.
It's not as bad as I thought, the sill cover needs a reprays and dent sorting behind he door but the rear wheel took most of what was admittedly a light impact and that needs a total refurb as the powder coating etc is split off the rim. Fortunately no damage to my brand new sessantas.
Been for a quote at our local body shop and they say all in £450. The guy that hit me said his van is worth that but is going to pay rather than go through insurance as his excess is around that anyway.

I could cry.........

Feel for you fella, at least the guy has admitted it was his fault straight up though and didnt try to haggle out of it I s'pose

I understand your pain. I remember that I had just rolled out of the paint shop in my Tiburon, after a month or so of repairs, only to get hit by a van a week later.

Another month...

I hope it's not so bad and the respray will give a new shine to your beautiful coupe.

By the way, what brand are those wheels? I like them immensely.

Good question. They came with with the car 18 months ago with the Hamann centre badges and I posted pictures on the forum asking what they were. Can't remember what the answer was exactly but essentially they are copies of a Hamann design called HM2. Anyway I like them too.

Sorry to hear about the accident dude, that sucks, especially when it could have totally been avoided! What else are mirrors for!

Hope you get it sorted smoothly. It's a sickening feeling when your pride and joy takes a bashing.

Hope it all gets sorted out for you and as mentioned at least he has accepted it was his fault because that would of been a bit of a pain.

Quick update.

Had 4 wheel alignment checked (yes adding to his bill) as I was worried it might have knocked out of true. He got the bumper inside the wheel and it ripped his bumper off so wanted to be sure. Glad to report that it's OK. The garage I got the tyres from last week very kindly sorted for me this morning when I just turned up.

So it is just cosmetic but I could have throttled him yesterday :headbang: :tumbleweed: :x
