So having taken the car back in 2 bmw birmingham today.. Lets just say its a never ending list of faults which is just too god damn much to write out but the main problem.. Need a whole new roof.. Motor, linen the lot!! Probably talking about 5 grand to get all the problems fixed.

The roof alone is £3000 :-(

However having only had the car since december and buying from a big car dealership known as the motorhouse..

Thinking of just flat out refusing the car.. I will be looking into it tonight whilst im meant to be working..

If i am successful i might get an upgrade and get some extra pots and go from 2.0 to 2.5/3.0

Hope it works out for you Dan & you manage to get into a bigger engine :) way more fun & not much more in running costs :thumbsup:
Just don't let 1 bad Z put you off them in general
 
Its 2006 06 plate facelift.. Thing is it runs near enough perfect.. Apart from the front lower support arms and bushes and everything its ok.. Its only just reached 50k miles aswell so it hasnt been driven that much for a car of its age.. And i wont let this put me off a Z.. Love them way too much :-)

Id talk to someone in the know like citizens advice or something to see what your rights are after such a long time..generally speaking you get 3 ninths for any underlying issues
 
You can get a new roof skin for £550 and £900 fitted....(Approx)

Roof motors are a not too expensive if you buy shrewdly and go to an Indy.

Just saying you maybe able to stuff cheaper if you decide to keep..
 
I ended up sending my 2.0 back after a long list of problems, garage offered me a 3.0 with 30k on the clock, best move ever....
 
Hopefully they will give me the same offer!!

On citizens advice any dealer must give you 6 months.. Not 3 months which they want you too believe!!

Hopefully this will help me out as i wasnt told about the roof problems..

I also asked for work to be carried out on the car ie the front left fog light housing was broken.. And still is..

Also asked for a repair on the front bumper.. The paint where it has had a respray drips whenever it becomes wet

I can also refuse the car and claim a full refund on the grounds they didnt carry the work i requested to a satisfactory quality..

Basically been mugged and will keep updates on here as and when they happen just so people may look back for help if they need it in the future

Good news.. Managed to get all the work done under the warranty so just got to get it booked in which means a happy dan!! :-)

Dont know its just what bmw have said..

HOWEVER..

No more happy ending..

Engine light and EML light both on the dash.. Car sounds like a tank.. I want to just take a hammer to it im that pissed..

I think bmw might have tampered with it..

Looks like the car will be gone tomorrow
