... I’ve bought a z4, that’s what.

Hi. Wanted one for years, in fact before it existed, ever since there was a z3.

2015 1.8 M sport, black with the leather orange-trimmed interior. I love it. I can get it in my (rather awkward) parking space, which is half the battle.

So again, hi. If there was one question I’d ask straight off: can anyone recommend a good clip-on mobile phone holder? For an iPhone 6s. My old car had built-in satnav (with a map already out of date when I got the damn thing) so I’m going to have to go old school..!

Congratulations, well done and welcome.Cant help with the phone thing as I'm so old school I still use a map,but soon you will have a plethora of good advice from the good guys here

Search Brodit Clip, that’s what most seem to use on here. Oh by the way get those photos of your new pride and joy posted before the compliance please come knocking.

Welcome to the forum Vroooooom.

I can't help with your phone question as I just use a Garmin.

Did anyone mention photos yet? :)

Hi & Welcome

As said the Brodit clips, seem to be what most used

Has anyone mentioned .....
:worthless:

The problem with the airvent phone mounts is you tend to have the heaters on max when driving with the roof down out of summer and the heaters cook anything clipped to them.

I looked at tons of different mounts for my iPhone 6S and settled on this one... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XWP55S1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's got the new generation of windscreen pads which are mega stable. Looks great in gloss black and is about as unobtrusive as you can get for a screen mount. It even says MPower on it....ish! I love it.

Thanks for the warm welcome, all. And the suggestions. I’m going to give the MPow (as recommended by ph001 - thanks!) a go in the first instance, and do some more research into the Brodit which looks more complicated.

And I’ll sort some pics ASAP! I really need to read the Ts&Cs better...

Photos are easy these days OP - just type your post and scroll down until you find an "Add Files" icon on the left. Click that, then browse until you get the photo you want.

So now we just need to see it - or better still them! :)

Crap! Photos! I totally forgot. Tomorrow. If the weather’s nice. Sorry. I’ve never been one for taking pictures of the cars I own(ed).

Now, let me see if I understand this: I can connect my iPhone to the car via Bluetooth, to use as a phone. But I can’t play music through the stereo via Bluetooth. And I can’t play music from my iPhone via the USB cable unless I get some complicated expensive Y-cable that is basically a glorified analogue cable (to plug in to the earphone socket - so that’s me not upgrading my iPhone past 6s as long as I have this car) with a USB cable attached just for charging purposes?

This is a bit of a faff tbh. What are my options? Live with it? Upgrade the stereo? Or just buy a big USB stick to put all my music on?

Ooh, sun came out just then. And I’ve already put the car away. Typical...

As to playing music via Bluetooth, do you have enhanced Bluetooth? if you do yes you can, and as your car is a 2015 I thought you could play music via the USB, do you have the idrive? if you do on the screen you scroll to your phone under media, press options and tick the box that says music, same for the bluetooth
