Am I missing something here? BMW f**ked up so you decided not to purchase... but you're getting another BMW? Are they not just as likely to mess that up too? If you're going to go through the pain of dealing with main dealers surely you should get what you really wanted in the first place?

What I really wanted was a decent, working Z4 that had all the bits I'd paid for. While I agree with you that, in an ideal world, this is what I should get, I am not prepared to let them have a dozen attempts at getting it for me. The Zed is a wonderful car but in the end, it is just a car: it's not worth the hassle.

But no, you are not missing something. A 130i is on my list. I have never had a bad 1 or 3 series from BMW, so I feel OK buying another.

The 130 is made in The Fatherland. There will be no mistakes - illustrious leader.

Americans can't put cars together properly :fuelfire: :fuelfire: :fuelfire: :poke: :poke: :poke:

brave/stupid....what-ever ...... I've been to the Vimy Memorial......so let just say 'ballsy' and hang on to see what happens....Mind you we are talking to Americans buying 'European' product made in a confederate state.....if its confusing me ......I'm concerned you aint gonna get a reply.....

What a fiasco. You've been very patient to say the least.

Not that it matters now but PDC is a standard retrofit kit item, so I see no reason why the dealer could not have simply fitted it??

And what wonderful designed and built cars have come from Canada? :poke: :poke: Go Redwings!

^^^ the BMW Z4 is German. :nahnah: The Ameican Auto Worker cannot even put it together properly. Engines fall off, doors are crooked, the car is a rattle box.... :nahnah:

Yep - there are no good cars from Canada - just like the US of A :fuelfire: :fuelfire:

I think you could put a nice Z06 in my garage any day and I wouldn't complain. Come to think of it my Ford Lightning SVT was built in Canada. Blew a sparkplug right out of the head at 40,000 miles! But then, it was a Ford. FIX OR REPAIR DAILY. They have been assembling Honda Accords here for years, and even exporting them back to Japan. No compaints about build quality. I believe its the engineers and not the assembly line grunts who screw cars up! No matter what country.

Can't compare Canada to the US. The US is a Hyperpower. Just the fact that you are comparing the world's only Hyperpower to Canada.... need I say more :nahnah:

Sounds to me like the problem stems from many origins...
1. Communication between the UK dealer, BMW, and the assembly plant
2. Defects in parts
3. Defects in assembly
4. Damage in shipping

Nobody's perfect all the time. It sucks that you've been on the receiving end of so many mistakes in the process. It's noteworthy that very few deliveries get screwed up like that.

I do hope you have much better luck with the 130, mate! 8)
