Oh FFS - spontaneous purchase content

Its funny what an emotive subject personalised plates can be :D The Lotus crowd are the same.

It seems a lot more 'accepted' when people have their initials. However the general criticism of this plate I've just bought is you don't get it? Well I should think 99.9999% of the people who see a plate with your initials won't get that? Its only going to make sense to you and your family, and I bet most of those wouldn't get it until you point it out? :D

I do admit a lot of people won't get this plate, only the real petrol heads will, ie the type of people who will actually know what an M Coupe is. But for the £255 this cost me (including transfer fee) I think its not too bad 8)

(having said all this I still can't 100% make up my mind on it, I have 10days to write in and cancel it if I want??)

Go fot it - if you like it do it!

Managed to get 2 .....BMW plates about 15 years ago at £200 each. Wont sell them as they are on the Zed and my wife's 325. Now about £1500 each.

Thats the thing thats making me swing towards keeping it, its not going to lose value. And "M Coupe" could appeal to the M3 boys now most of the "M3" plates have been snapped up, something different for them too? and the "M" in the way it is on this plate sort of looks like a 3 in roman numerals too (I'm scraping the barrel now aren't I? )

All 'old school' plates in LNN LLL format or LN LLL will appreciate in value over time IMO...

Keep the plate :)

I missed it to  but i am more on the side of initials then car specific plates. I have E4 JRE which i think is pretty obvious is my initials, the first two prefix's where just what i thought looked best at the time as there was several variants. That plate will stay with me for ever now which ever car i own .
But if the plate means something to you then that's all that matters its a very personal thing

I suppose that ^^^ is what is giving me the most doubt, if you guys don't see it what hope have I got :D

I may have been harsh before but how does T77 look like an M? I really cannot see it

Seriously?! You cannot see ANY similarity between these?

Well the plates 7's not as crooked as those 7's :) Note my poor photoshop skills on the first post :) I could ask whoever does the plates to make the down stokes competely vertical, but I think that will attract the attention of the BIB a bit too much. Subtlely changing them is a compromise I'm more likely to get away with?

How about this, see it now:

Who gives a sh*t if no one except the purchaser either can "see" or likes the plate. As long as the purchaser gets it,and likes it,then that's all that matters. £ 255 to take the age off the Z seems a good deal to me.

I agree! As long as you like it, that's the main thing.

Your either a dentist or unfortunate to have bad teeth?

On the T77 CPE, I think if you get creative with the lettering when the plates made, it will look quite nice
