We may laugh, but in the 2 years I owned my Tvr t350c I watched sagaris prices get driven up by the main 3 indie tvr garages, from around the £35,000 mark to £60,000,I know Tvr going tits up had something to do with it,but still!

Got just a few more miles on it too

Mid 40s means inspection 2 has been done. Lower running costs. Bargain

Actually I think it was exdos that pointed out that Hexagon were the ones who created the market for the Z8 in the UK. Look at the values of them now.

I believe so. Hexagon did the same for the S54 Z3MC starting in November 2003. Anyone concerned about the residuals of their Z4MC should be delighted rather than sneering.

Cars which are in models of limited numbers have become particularly collectable in the past year, because property is grossly overpriced and it's a bubble that should burst and there's bugger all interest paid on deposit accounts. The low-mileage Z4MC is eminently suited for investment in the present economic climate.

Remember that 1800mile Imola that was up for sale the other week? Well Hexagon bought it and take a look at the asking price!!

Just found this BMW Z4 via Auto Trader

:o

I think you'll now find that the Z4MC of your choice is beyond your reach (or willingness to buy). You should've bought something a couple of months ago when the prices were beginning to increase.

I'm not sure that all Z4MC's with <25k mileage will have shot up drastically in the past few months.

Mine has 28k on the clock now (25k when I purchasde in June 2013 for £17.5k), I've no plans to sell just yet, but selling privately, in this market I couldn't see myself getting more than £18 - 18.5k. For the "average low miler" (rather than the exceptional garage queens) prices may be starting to slowly increase, but not a huge difference unless you are planning to buy a mint garage queen from an independent specialist.

:o There is a great choice of new or nearly new cars for £40 big ones never mind a 6 year old one
Just one idea ?????????

I guess Hexagon's thinking is that the Imola ///M is a collectable, one that (in theory) will continue to appreciate. People that are likely to spend £40k on it wouldn't want to spend £40k on a new car instead.

A bit like saying a mint E30 M3 Sport Evolution will set you back £85k......but you could get an F-Type Coupé V8 R. Not really comparing apples with apples.

I'm inclined to agree. There were a couple of beauties that I'd have moved in fast for. These are rare cars and if you are particular about spec, mileage and colour then you have to accept you might pay more than you wanted.

It's an MCoupe and I'm already up considerably on what I paid for it

Plus I'm not scared to drive it or worry I'm decreasing the value as that value isn't going anywhere

…and it's awesome

Hell yeah

I want to see it. Soon.

I don't think the price is scandalous - there's a big difference between a car with 1,800 miles on the clock and one with 25k miles. Both might be in the same condition, but the mileage does add a lot of value, this car is probably the 'newest' Z4MC you can buy now new ones are discontinued. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if it rose higher.

BUT that doesn't mean all other 'low mileage' Z4MCs are worth 40k, they would need similar stupendously low mileage.
