Off with the old and on with the new Quad...

Unfortunately I am not local, well not anymore, I travelled down from Darlington, County Durham to have the exhaust done, partly after reading your posts and also because I recall getting an exhaust done with Brett a few years ago, when I was local (I am originally from Sheffield and still have family there).

Alright mate,

Following recommendation from John I also travelled down to Donny to get the quad set up installed to my coupe, I have had it for around 4 months or so now I believe so it will have settled in as much as it will.

I live Yarm way so if you are still concerned regarding your set up for noise levels I would happily meet up to let you have a listen/look of mine.

I've come from a 450bhp T25 Hawkeye Impreza with a full 3.5" straight through decat system leading to a 4.5" exit so the sound of the quad set up on the Z4 is quieter on full chat in comparisson to my Impreza at idle, so as you can imagine I'm quite content with the noise from the Zed :)

Just a bit more of an update on this thread for anyone that is interested..

I've been back to down to TopGear today as Brett wanted me to go back to put some heat wrap around the RHS pipe at the rear section where it passes the charcoal filter just as a precaution really. Whilst I was there he also fitted me a new mid silencer in place of the existing one (FOC) as I felt that the car was a little bit too boomy at times. It's amazing what a difference this has made. The old silencer was a twin straight through set up but only had holes in the baffle half the length of the silencer with a nasty ridge in the middle which could upset the flow of gasses and may have been a little bit restrictive. The new Powerflow one is slightly longer in length, straight through but with holes all the way down the baffle.. The difference on tick over and town driving is completely different. Who would have thought replacing this part would be so effective.

Anyway, another big thumbs up to the TopGear lads, they certainly know how to keep a customer happy. :D
