Off to Tuscany today

We are off on our Tuscan holiday. Ended up hiring an estate car (Audi A6 diesel) I'll provide a short review when we return to Germany. Will be interesting to see the economy figures with 5 adults and luggage. 5 adults and luggage is why we had to forgo using the 3er and hire the A6.
 
i'll be around siena and florence over the easter weekend so if you see a black UK Z4M give us a beep! :D

Had a memorable jaunt in a A6 avant 3-0TDI from Manchester to Friedrichshafen & back in 3 days with a pal
the car was impressive & utterly faultless but left me thinking Audi's were not for me , too clinical & detached from the driver :?
almost felt like the car could have managed the trip by itself :wink:

Mrs ronk has the A4 3.0Tdi - I would say that it would be the last of my cars to go !

A cracking car to do along bash at this time of year.
 
Thanks for all the good thoughts. The Audi has been brilliant so far. With 5 adults and luggage. We still managed 40 US MPG through the Alps. I must say that the Audi handles much better than the wife's 328 that has the standard suspension. We also were routed through some very tight and twisty roads (one car wide) by our sat-nav due to the direction we approached Villa Collemandina. I have been very impressed with the A6. On our way to Italy. We stayed at a hotel in Isenthal Switzerland. (hotel Urirotstock) Not very fancy. But it was very quite and about 1000 meters above Lake Lucerne. But as always. We were shocked (negativly so) at the price of dinning in Switzerland.

The one depressing thing though. Is the rain. The forecast calls for around 30 MM during our stay.

The Audi lady on the nav was part of the clinical problem for me , she is just so damm good , . questioned her in the first 500 miles but soon became apparent that whatever she says just do it , :P Olga we called her , the car's are almost robotic in their capabilities though , fill them with fuel , load in whatever you can & press the pedal as hard as you like :wink: they just seem to like it the harder you push them :thumbsup:
