OEM Wind Deflector Mounting Instructions? SOLVED

Hey folks

I recently purchased an OEM wind deflector retrofit kit (used, but in great shape). It doesn't come with installation instructions although most of it is pretty clear and obvious. One part that is not clear/obvious to me is how to install the mounting clips for the boot storage of the center deflector.

There are 4 clips that fit into for square cutouts in the boot lid. I'm not clear if those clips are supposed to be hammered all the way in or just partially in. I'm concerned about breaking them if I punch too hard, but also concerned about the install falling out if the clips aren't in all the way.

Any help appreciated!

I have a windscreen that looks like it is OEM, but it isn't. It took me awhile to find the installation instructions.

Any chance you have the same one?

I believe BMW made two different wind deflectors for the E85/86. One is a 3-piece set: two pieces for inside the roll bars (these don't come out) and the center screen (which clips in/out and can be stored in the trunk). That's the one I have. The other one is like the one you sent the link for. I've seen that on realOEM, so it's got to be a BMW part. It's a soft/leather deflector.

Mine didn't come with instructions, but it's overall pretty straight forward to install, although a bit of PITA because those clips that hold the plastic roll bar covers on are really rigid and break fairly easily when taking them off. I got lucky and only broke 2 or 3 clips, so putting them back on still feels super solid.

I hope that helps.

UPDATE:
So, I never found any clear instructions for mounting the trunk clips, but it did seem fairly obvious that those clips are meant to be pushed in so they are flush. I ended up using a hammer to very lightly pound them in. They went in just fine, but will probably never come out! haha That's fine, though, because they take up no room at all and they do hold the storage mounts perfectly.
