OEM SatNav Resale Value of Car

There have been numerous threads on the merits of SatNav come resale time, on a X5 for exmaple it's a must on the Z4 not so important my local dealer informed me before I retro fitted.

It cost me approx £500 to fit including an original Map which would be required at resale time compared to approx £1,600 as factory option.

I had seen a few posts where members had sold their ///M's using http://www.webuyanycar.com so thought I would put my cars details in to see what came out as I am considering a E46 M3

The first Value I was given was £15,765 for a 56/06 22k and spec as per my sig. I then resubmitted the details without SatNav and the price returned was £15,265

My local dealer offered my £14,500 a couple of months ago without a specific replacement car to offset and value.

So it would seem that SatNav adds £500 to the value of your Z4 at least if it's around 2-3 years old and there Price being offered by http://www.webuyanycar.com is better than my local dealer, although they may offer more as prices do seem to have stabilised a little.

Just need to find a nice M3 cab now (Have twins and would like the benefit of using my car at weekends) unless you lot talk me out of it and into a Z4MR

Nice bit of resarch there SR. Sounds about right that it would add £500 to the value after a few years. Overpriced to start with, then of course as it moves to say 5 years old limited extra value, but probably gets the sale Vs without.

Not as important as on say the X5 where no Sat nav = no sale.

Sounds about right doesn't it. Z4M over the E46, and take the twins out one at a time.

I'm yet to take them out in the Z4, it's on the to do list but they are only 4 and it means trying to get their seats to fit which maybe an issue du to the sports seats.

The Z4MR was my inital goal for a keep forever car and really in my heart of hearts would like to do this it just we have to take the wifes Astra out at weekends and when you see all the soft tops around gets to me, the other option is to by the missus an Astra TwinTop and get the Z4MR.

Also yet to take an M3 out so might not even like it but thats doubtful after owning 2 E46's

www.webuyanycar.com has a pretty poor reputation if you look around. They give you a good price on the site to get you to come to their offices then offer you a much lower price once they've seen the car. It's good for getting comparative prices like you did - sat-nav vs. no sat-nav - but I wouldn't recommend selling to them.
