Hi everyone,

New 2005 z4 owner here..
I purchase the car with no radio and removed oem amplifier. Some other owner in the pass tried to add aftermarket but couldn't succeed i guess.

Anyhow, I purchased used oem radio (tested) and plugged in. I also reconnect the oem amplifier as it was laying on the trunk.
However entire system is dead, radio is not turning on or responding.

I ve checked the fuses and all look good. I also disconnected the battery about an hour but couldn't fix anything.
All wiring visibly looks good..

Any suggestions?
Thanks

I reckon your amp will have been in water at some point and that is your issue

Common issue

If someone has tried to add aftermarket, who knows what they might have done to the wiring loom. Having just replaced the 6-speaker loom (no separate amp) in my car with an OEM 10-speaker loom (with amp), I can tell you it is a complicated loom.

Some photos may help us to diagnose the issue. As Bigwinn said, if the amp is fried (common in pre-facelift cars), you might expect the radio controls to illluminate but no sound.

Thanks for the replies guys, again the issue is not getting any response from the radio, i can not speak about the sound issue as i am not able to turn on the radio.
I am planning to purchase digital meter to check the power, i also got inpa scanner to see if there is anything specific.
