OEM MV2's for CSL Reps (B M Autosport)

With the risk of repeating what's already been written and from reading the other post about 'replica wheels', I was thinking about changing my wheels in the next couple of months. My MV2's are pretty grotty (flaking paint, kerbed and nasty centre badges). The cost of refurbing them wouldnt be too far off a new set of wheels (albeit replicas)

I know it's been done to death but was going to get these, purely for the fact that my 4 new tyres I had in December will fit onto them and I like the look : http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/product_info.php/new-spoke-alloys-hyper-silver-deeper-look-wider-rear-p-169?cPath=51_27_134_46_297

So, I asked B M Autosport and they offered me £200.00 for my MV2's (without tyres). There is a point... and I will now get to it... do you think that's fair? i'd technically pay £250.00 for a new set of wheels... replicas yes I know... I will also need badges as well.

Thoughts on the price would be most welcome people.

Thanks

Daniel

Great deal! I would go for that what do you think you would get for fairly poor condition wheels on the forum? Probably not that and the ease of driving and swapping them over

That's a very good point Tom. I was thinking of changing once the weather was better, so it didn't matter if they deteriorated any more. It's just the hassle of swapping tyres or forking out for another set of tyres so soon.

It does seem a good deal and an easy swap... I think I'd better get myself booked in then :)

Thanks guys.

I also bought CSL reps staggered from Mark at bmautosport 2 years ago. Great quality & German made still in great nic & outlasted my original bmw 225`s on my 335. Had 2 cracked in the last 6 months.

This is good to know Kermit! I know they had a good reputation from what people on the forum had said but it's nice to hear it confirmed.

I traded in my old wheels with Mark last week for the 19inch Atomics in hyper silver. Never looked back! The ride is so much better and the finish / build quality of the reps is superb.

If you're driving down to him, pop into Elbey garage next door to BM Auto Sport for an alignment check. I also got a can of 44k chucked in and It's made my engine run so much smoother! :)

Been thinking of a similar change myself. MV2's to CSL reps. However, most on here seem to have gone for 19", and as I've got 4 decent 18" tyres with plenty of life left, wasn't sure how 18s would look on a roadster. Anybody got any pics?

Thanks for this Thmas! Worth knowing and will certainly pop next door!

Hey Phil, I'm in exactly the same position. The 19's do look better but having just spent so much money on tyres I can't be bothered with the hassle of selling them separately .

I found a picture today with the 18's on... I'll see if I can track it down and post it for you to look at!

Do it. Mmmm maybe I should ask if they want my mint 107's with RFT when I get my 19's

Sold them my 108's for £450 without tyres, I did buy them from BM and I did have problems with the lacquer cracking which is why I think I got a good deal on my CSY's and Michelins.

Given the prices they are selling them for perhaps I should push for a bit more. There are refurbed MV2's for £800.00

Seems like you got a very good deal Mark-Z4

Wow, they look rather good. Thanks for posting the pics. Were these from BM Autosport, or an alternative source?
Yes from bm autosport, had them about 2 a half years & there still perfect nick. Just check the ones he's selling are also Made in Germany. Don't think Mark sells the cheap rubbish.

Awesome Kermit! Thank you! That's made my mind up. The other photo I saw made them look a bit small. These look great!

Ooh, am all excited now lol :D
