OEM CSL wheel owners, which front wheel do you have?

I've just learned that there are different front wheel options when ordering OEM CSL style 163 wheels, being 8J and 8.5J.

E46 M3 CSL
36 11 2 282 650 8.5JX19 ET44 23.1 lb
36 11 2 282 999 9.5JX19 ET27 24.7 lb

E46 M3
36 11 2 282 895 8J X19 ET47 22.3 lb
36 11 2 282 999 9.5JX19 ET27 24.7 lb

Which is prefered for our Z4MC's? :?
 
I believe the narrower one is from the M3 CS.

Is there a difference in appearance, 8.5J are more concave maybe?
I can get a good deal on a set but this is with the 8J fronts.

Yes that is clear, 8J is M3 Competition Package and 8.5J is M3 CSL but I've never seen them side by side, is there a visual difference?

No I don't think so, my fronts are virtually flat faced :thumbsup:

I was comparing pictures on the web but can not see a difference either.
There are already many variables that make or break the 'look' of wheels on a car and I want get it right on mine ;)
I really like the concave look of the rears, so if the 8.5J are slightly more concave than the 8J I would prefer this but if they look exactly the same I better save myself a few bucks and go for the 8J9.5J set.
 
Here you go, you'll need bigger spacers to make the wheels flush with the wing :thumbsup:

I've been all over the interwebs but still didn't find a good side by side comparision of the 8J vs 8.5J.
Strange thing is that some fronts seem more concave than others but it seems to depend alot on the picture angle etc.
 
May also depend if the wheels are genuine or not. 2dogs had some reps first and the rears were nowhere near as concave as genuine wheels even with the same offset.
 
Thats true, lots of reps out there.
Makes it extra difficult but I searched with the OEM part numbers to rule out fakes, still very tricky.
Must be some forum members here that have the 8J mounted, would be nice to see pics like Darrens'

No they're fine, I'm running 235's PSS but funny you should ask that, I loaned them to OG whilst he had his 224's refurbed and on full lock they rubbed, but not on mine for some reason ? :?

How interesting, i'm running 235 PSS on mine and it looks like if I ran a 12mm spacer the wheels would be outside the arches? I was thinking 5mm would be perfect?
