OEM BMW Z4M Strut Brace

Yeah it was off a m3 csl. But does answer the question weather it fits! Only chromed ones I’ve seen is yours and mine. As this one looks slightly satin.

Cheers for the feedback guys, I know what it owes me (a lot more than £150) and as SRHutch points out, it isn't the M3 brace. No rush to get rid, will leave price where it is as I think it's absolutely fair.

Just on a side note for potential buyers and the people saying these things make no difference, i have the 3 point ultra racing solid brace on my car and have had this same brace being sold here on a previous zed, they make a world of difference!...... tightens up the front end wonderfully, particularly on a roadster!, you'll feel the difference on turn in mostly, but also gives the car a lovely solid front end feeling. just my two pence worth.

Indeed & here's some more  I had the same oem strutbrace on my last ZM roady , no way i could tell the difference between having it on or off , never tracked the car but driven enthusiastically where possible , so i sold it for £350 iirc ( 18months ago ish )
Perhaps the Z///Ms are already stiffer from the off than the Si Se models :?
Nice eye candy with bonnet up though

I’ve got one on my Z3M roady and it made a world of difference

Price point does seem high IMO as there are others that fit at lower cost.

That doesn't mean my price point is high, as that's like comparing apples and oranges. Other available braces may be cheaper, but they aren't the same brace.

I'm keen on the (honest) input of the users on the forum. Do you guys think this is fairly priced?

I gave my honest opinion as requested.

With regard to apples and oranges, it’s just a strut brace that performs a function, no special materials etc. Would it add value to a car because it’s OEM ?

At the end of the day it’s yours to offer for sale at whatever price you see fit
I get that you would like to get back somewhere near what you paid for it.

Mr wilks, check the rising Z3 prices, so can’t be all that bad :P
Everything evolves with technology, I wouldn’t compare my Z3MR with my Z4MC

That was my point , a strutbrace may be a necessity on a Z3MR roadster & noticeable to the driver if the car is without , not the case with Z4MR

My reply sounded entirely more abrupt than intended, so apologies if it seemed a bit blunt! Your opinion is that the part itself is a little dear, which I get, but it seems the pricing for this particular item is pretty in keeping with precedent.

pretty certain whether we like it or not this item will make the money.... its NLA , very rare and is z4m specific OEM product. If your willing to ship it to the states drop it on zpost as they basically have a waiting list for these coming up for sale. As soon as an item becomes NLA its value shoots up, supply and demand rules apply.

Any suggestions on a reasonably cost effective way to post to the states? I tend to steer clear of posting anything significant too far afield following a couple of bad experiences.

I looked in to braces when I was considering one and decided not to for various reasons. Apparently the oem item has a calibrated deformable section (actually a notch) which will give and sacrifice the brace in a collision, rather than transferring the impact force to the other strut tower as well. This can be the difference between a repairable knock and a write-off, or making a crash survivable as non-deformable braces interfere with crumple zones. One reason why insurance companies load premiums for a brace and why an OEM item might be worth the extra loot
