OEM 18" Z4M wheels and tyres

Bought these wheels and tyres from a fellow forumite in May, and have been using them on and off on my 3.0si for the last couple of months - testing the water to see if I can recoup most of my outlay as I'm keen to try something else.

They have only been used for a couple of thousand miles since new, so they are pretty pristine.

Original thread for debate about how much they were worth back in May and photos. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18726#p269321 Little has changed since then except for a few more miles.

Tyres have 7mm of tread left.

May consider splitting tyres and wheels if sensible offers made.

Pick-up from North Leeds (Guiseley!) - but as I've also got an estate car I could deliver locally for petrol money.

p.s. Anyone have any idea how much tread when they were brand new to giva an idea about how much life is left?

There's 8mm on a new tyre and you'd normally get 10-15,000 miles out of a set of rears - so if they've done 3,000-4,000 miles on them they're probably 6mm or so - but you can get an accurate figure with a tyre depth gauge.

Can you have a look at the sidewall to see what the manufacturing date it on the tyres, as if they're old the structure can be compromised (any date after 01/06 should be fine).

Thanks M8. The tyres have 7mm but cant see a date. Ideas?

Mainly miss Daisey driving by the mrs , guess less than 2500 miles all told.

Here's my post on how to identify the week & year of tyre manufacture.

It's not so much an issue on our relatively new cars, but you should see the amount of e34/e39 M5s that have had the same tyres on for 10 years and the owner complaining about 'whatever brand' being useless :headbang:

I'd be interested in the rear tyres myself - if only to save me paying full price for some with more tread than mine (as I go through my rears quite quickly) - but I'd only want to pay £150 for a pair anyway (working on the basis of a£300 for 4 tyres and £400 for 4 wheels for a total of £700 for wheels & tyres).

Am I allowed to say that the M wheels on the 3.0 coupe just look wrong in the first pic ?

Coupes suit CSLs for me, M roadsters look better on M wheels. I actually prefer the stock coupe wheels on Guiseley's car but it's all personal taste.

Guiseley - if you do decide to split, I may be interested the front tyres (you appear to have someone for the rears above too?)

Assuming you've put STANDARD 3.0i tyres on (not the wider M ones) as otherwise they'll rub in the arches.

Must admit i love them on mine. And no rubbing on the fronts at last, well maybe a tiny bit when going  :driving:

No - but seeing as it's you.....no. :P

Sorry mate, still on original M tyres - no rubbing during normal driving. :driving: (For clarity the tyres are the same width but slightly different profile - up 1cm (40 to 45 and 35 to 40 iirc) compared to my 3.0 OEM items)

Tyres are Nov06 according to the one on the top of the pile - hope that helps.

If it's 11/06 then it's week 11 of 2006 - but as I said, anything less than 4 years old are fine.

Still interested in the rear tyres only if you need to split the wheels & tyres - and can probably just do the changeover at a local tyre fitters of your choice up your way as I'm only about an hour away in Liverpool.

I'm looking for a spare set of wheels at the moment but just wheels not tyres

How much for the wheels and delivery to Worcester ?

Just for clarification they are week 46 (so November 06) not week 11 - don't think that changes anything, but got my pedantic hat on today.

I'd still prefer to sell as a set, but waiting on a price for the wheels from Mitch, so every result is still possible!

No problem, I'm a pedant at heart too, so thought it best to check

Still happy to take the rears off you if you can't sell them as a set - no hurry. Though if I've sold the car by the time you come to split them then I retain the right to change my mind :P

All - thanks for the offers so far, but I'm still hoping someone will buy the tyre / wheel combo 'as is'. Any cars out there deserving a nice new shiney set of wheels?

Tony - You have a PM with an idea or two about possible tyre / wheel swaps.

If I'm the Tony you're referring to then I've not had any PM from you.
