So a while back I needed the top mount done on my Zed, offside front but had both done.
I now have a leaking front strut, same side so without further ado ordered a pair of B4's and went about the strip down...
Seems they must have had an issue with the 15mm hex knuckle bolt as it's been replaced with a 15mm torx bolt which aint shifting, concerned I'm gunna screw the head and I only have std 15mm sockets. The other side has been off and remains the std 15mm hex bolt.
So go buy a 15mm female torx socket then I hear the cry's, well I've looked and there isn't one on tinterweb. Why they fitted that type of bolt is beyond me and having faffed with it it's going to have to go to a garage either to get cut or removed with a seemingly fictitious socket!
Sizes seem to go 14, bypass 15/16 and go straight to 17/18.
Looks like ::
Now I'm saying it's 15mm but the torx sizes are odd, the 15 mm std socket bit fits right on it, snug, applying force though makes it slip.
Can anyone advise? I was trying to save dough with a reasonably simple DIY job
, I'd return the car to the garage but I'm too far away now.
Thanks.
