ODB2 diagnostic

I'm looking for an ODB2 tool that can identify and reset error codes. Not one of the simple code readers but one with a bit more diagnostic capability. Any suggestions.

Cheers.

Andi.

Most simple obd readers are just that readers and mainly check engine errors. If you want to look at other info and clear errors you will need the BMW software SSS / DIS / Inpa / Navcoder etc.

I have The above but also use the following with dashcommand, you can custom gauges etc

Get the wifi obd off eBay.

You were born with the only diagnostic tool that actually works!

All the so called diagnostic tools only provide information. Despite marketing hype, they don't provide reliable diagnosis. That depends on how you interpret the information provided. Certainly more information is better, so more than a basic code reader is a good investment. Just consider anything it tells you as signs and symptoms, not diagnosis.

I don't have specific tool advice, I just wanted to ensure you are not expecting more than any tool can deliver.

I have seen Bluetooth odb2 scan tools on amazon for less than a tenner, has anybody used one with an ipad/iphone or have any recommended apps?

Mainly interested in probing the ecu sensors/error codes for bit of fun and also to check out a suspect fault on a 2009 fiesta.

For Android try Dashcommand and/or Torque.

They are mainly readers cannot do any coding and very restrictive, great for playing around but not for serious coding

I have a wifi odb using dashcommand for reading certain gauges but have full software DISv57, SSSv32, inpa, navcoder, winkfp and ncsexpert for proper coding and clearing faults

Not had much luck running android apps on my apple products ;) - cheers anyway.
