Its interesting how a car can stir up peoples emotions. I picked up my Z4 last saturday and was sat stationary in heavy traffic on the motorway in the middle lane. I had owned the car for less than 1 hour and a guy in an Astra 2008 plate with wife and two kids in the car came past me doing 10 mph in the slow lane giving the w****r sign. I thought it seemed strange as we were doing 10mph max and so I started trying to backtrack as to wether I had cut him up or something else. Came to the conclusion that it must be the car. Traffic starts moving and I pass him and again the w****r sign-again I try to ignore. Third time hes out of the window giving the sign, his wife is looking in the opposite direction, clearly embarrassed. I open the window and ask 'what?' 'what have i done to you?' 'whats your problem?'. His response was that I thought I was something special in my BMW, all BMW drivers are w*****s, my car was s**t, I was a ponce etc etc. I laughed at him, did the window up and the traffic soon cleared and he disappeared into the rear view mirror. The irony is that until 1 hour before my only car was a 2006 Astra, same model as his. I did start to wonder if this was the sign of things to come.
I do get your point though they are so afforedable now and are sinking into chav driving land 
Anway off out for my Z4 fix tomorrow and some dry quiet..ish roads
