Occupancy seat mat e85

Hello,
My airbag light keeps coming back, whenever somebody sits on passenger seat. Its the code 9913 SBE1. Occupancy seat mat sensor. My question is, should i buy bypass / make DIY diode & resistor bypass or should i code it with NCS? Anyone coded it before on e85? Its really just about unpluging sensor, disabling OC3 in the airbag module and erasing code?

Thanks!

For a street car I personally would replace the sensor. On my Z, I just used an emulator (resistor) just so I wouldn’t have to deal with the light. I rarely have passengers and the airbag lag is not looked at for safety inspection.

Ultimately you just want to know it’ll still deploy but I don’t think anyone has confirmed it *worked* even when it was coded out.

I’ve just helped someone sort a similar issue in the uk. It wasn’t the occupancy sensor causing the issue. Makes sense really as it must be working to know someone has sat in the seat and then put the light on.
The sensor was working correctly but the module wasn’t dealing with the signal correctly. Proven by replacing the module and the fault went away.
