Occasional knocking from rear suspension/brakes

I've had my 3.0SI Coupe for almost a month now and love it. When I hit any bumps I get an occasional knocking noise from the back end. I'm not sure if something is loose on the suspension or if it cold be the brake calipers that are moving around. If it was the brakes, I would expect it to stop under braking but I don't think it does.

Are there any known issues?

I've also got corrosion on the front brake callipers. Not a problem except with the split rims it does look unsightly. Would this be covered by warranty?

Are you DEFO sure its the rear?

I had a similar knocking noise and my suspension strut brace was loose and needed tightening up!

Don't think so unfortunately. You'll have to paint them instead.

Yes it is the rear. I thought it was weak springs holding the pads in place but it's not.

Pity about the corrosion on the front calipers. The paint finish on my old Boxster was still holding up well at twice the age.

The car has been nto Halliwell Jones in Warigton and they have identified the problems.

They tell me;

One of the anti roll bar bushes had been badly fitted and had become contaminated with road dirt - replaced.

Another suspension link had come loose causing wear - replaced.

The damper mutings are faulty and will have to be replaced.

They couldn't do all the work as they didn't have the parts but at least they've identified the problem and will call me whe parts are in. :driving: :driving:
