Hi guys, ive just installed AC exhaust (should be sports) on my z4 3.0si, it is running on "semi stright thru" which is without primary and secondary cats.

but theres two issue i discovered :
1) it's bassy but sound level peaks at about 5k rpm, above that its just engine noise
2) dosent have a "growl" at idle :tumbleweed:

is there any way i can make it louder? or achieve (2)?
the rest of my car is bone stock.

AC tips loooks good though :D

Have you removed the foam baffles from the sound generator under the bonnet? That'll help, you'll find several threads via search.

I'm glad you're not my neighbour!

its not that loud haha :P
I have yet to do that, will look into it. does that increase the engine or exhaust sound volume?

& on a side note, I noticed on my exhaust set up, the muffler gets REALLY REALLY HOT :fuelfire: after a day's drive.. is this normal?
did not have this issue when i was on my stock exhaust

Sound generator pipes intake growl into passenger compartment, taking out the foam means more sound gets to you.

Not familiar with your exhaust, so couldn't say about heat.

actually the drone cause by my set-up's pretty loud already so I do not really want to increase any more on the cabin noise.
out of curiosity, has anyone tried to retrofit an exhaust made for a specific model to a different model?

like say.......trying to fit an RPi-Gt ehxuast made for the M on to a 3.0Si , non-M
:poke:
