After many years of buying cheap readers and even a year using Carly. Carly is ok for basic stuff and a little bit of coding but £80 a year is a bit steep.

I’m now thinking of splashing out on a decent one, up to about £2-250, new or second hand

I’ve just replaced an air spring on my 5 series and need to re-set the air suspension.

So I need one that does all bmw shiz. I also will use on other makes of cars too.

I don’t have a windows laptop top for ISTA+. Unless I buy a cheap one, but then I can’t use that on other cars.

So what’s the forum using?

I should mention now I use and iPhone, so I would have to buy an android device which bumps the price up, a lot!

After spending most of the afternoon/ evening on google and watching Youtube I have just bought a Lunch X431 Elite for £125, this will also work with the Zed 4.

The Launch comes with the BMW software on the Android powered touch screen tablet thing and you can purchase other manufactures if you want, from what I could see they about £30-40 each.
I sent the a message on their eBay shop asking if you could calibrate the air suspension and register a battery and they said yes, so I bought it.

The other contender was the iCarSoft which again was pretty much the same but didn't allow you to buy other manufactures and wasn't touch screen And was £170.

I'll post about when it arrives and Ive had a play on both cars with it.

We have 5 iPhones and 3 iPads …but it is the best BMW specfic tool this side of ISTA so bought a ruggedised Chinese android for £70..just keep it in the car at all times..each to their own…

I have the foxwell with multi car support..bought the GM and Volvo packs…fairly shite
