OBD II socket

I'm going to view a couple of Z4 MCs in the next few days and I'd like to know where I'll find the OBD II socket, so that I can plug in my datalogger/fault code reader. Is it to be found in the plastic trim directly under the steering wheel?

Hi Exdos,

I know its on the right handside to the right of the steering column, under the headlights switch on my 04 3.0i. Would have thought its in the same place on the MC.

Have a look here to confirm:

Hi Spearman,

I viewed a Z4MC and the OBDII socket on the car was on the right hand side of the footwell trim just in front of the door. There's a plastic hinged flap that covers the socket that needs to be lifted to plug in the datalogger cable.

The owner is wanting £1.5k more than Parkers says is the Franchised dealer price and £3.5k more than Parkers says is the Private Good price. So, IMO the car is already overpriced. The MOT expires in 2 months and the rear tyres were illegal (below minimum tread) and the owner is unwilling to fit some new rear tyres and put the car through the MOT. I've made the owner what I consider to be a decent offer and left it with him to come back to me if he wishes to take my money.

Sorry, but why did you bother going to see it and waste the seller's time, when you already knew it was ’over-priced'?

Were you a party to our private conversations prior to my visit and in our discussions? A deal may yet be done.
