OBD code/Cat converter issue

Hey everyone,

I got an OBD reader as I was having some issues with battery drain which are now resolved. However, it’s showing error codes P0130 (which is a generic O2 sensor error I believe) and P0420 (which I think is tolerance levels with emissions).

Could the issue just be that an O2 sensor is faulty, and if so is this an easy job to fix? Has anyone encountered this before?
 
You have 4 lambda sensors on the car, 2 pre cat and 2 post cat. If I were you I would buy the Creator + scanner (not expensive) and that will identify exactly which sensor you need. There are some cheap sensors available which I was advised to avoid and pay a bit more for Bosche ones which are OEM. Autodoc have them for a reasonable price but if it is a post cat one you might (like me) find it impossible to reach them.
 
I would get the Creator 310+ code reader first , I doubt you will need a new cat but the code reader will identify exactly what you need and you could start by clearing the code and seeing if it reappears. My lamdba sensor code is intermittent so doesnt come back straight away.
 
Ok I’m getting 2C45 ‘before Cat’ which returns almost immediately after clearing. Not sure how to find out exactly which sensor is failing with the Creator though. From the small amount of research the ‘before cat’ sensors seem fairly easy to get access to and replace, but are there any guides I can follow?

Ok I’ve took the covers off the engine to try and find where the precat sensor plugs connect but cannot find it for the life of me. It looks like the wires for both run under the engine and into the cabin but not 100% sure. Does anyone know their location? My engines a 2.0 N46 by the way. I’ve had a look for engine/wiring diagrams aswell but no luck.
 
Didn't realise you had the 2.o litre and not familiar with that engine but it could be you only have 2 sensors, one before and one after the cat. The sensor will be located high up on the exhaust system near the top of the engine
