O2 Sensor, Bank 1 Sensor1 P0030 code

Is anyone familiar with this code? (P0030) I’ve got a 2008 Z4 3.0si with only 22k orig miles. I recently took it in to dealer for a recall(pvc replacement), and next day check engine light comes on. I hardly ever drive the car, so I’m wondering why an O2 sensor may suddenly need replaced at 22k miles.

I'm not familiar with that but surly it needs to go back to the dealer for them to sort if it's appeared after they have done work on the car.

I called them & told them about it. They advised me to make an appointment and bring it back in to have checked(3wks). They informed me that I would have to pay a diagnostic fee($137) at a minimum.
I just decided to pop the hood & look myself after posting this. I locate the Bank 1 sensor & follow the electrical wire up to the engine cover. Then I notice the BMW mechanic left 2 screws out of my engine cover, then after I take the cover off I see the plug just dangling there, completely unplugged. Plugged it back in & reset system. All good 👍🏻
Thanks for nothing Rick Hill BMW in Kingsport, TN

That says much for the quality of the work done by main dealers.

Now both of mine are over 10 years old I only ever use a local recommended BMW Independent Specialist - whose labour rate is about half what BMW charge!

Glad you found a free fix.

No surprise to hear BMW main dealers in the states are just as much a set of one-armed drunken monkeys as they are in the UK then!
