Well Gents after an Epic trip away on another Chaps on Tour , no regrets what a trip!
Snow had been and was the biggest concern with this year’s trip the low European temperatures were generating some concerns but with good people , good beer we had a plan B ahead if required. I had the added pressure of only moving house 6 days before and leaving a Mrs 35 weeks pregnant to worry with but all was well!
We departed our journey on Friday morning meeting up with Niz on route in his stunning Z4M Coupe a newbie for this year’s road trip , once meeting we were on route for the ferry!, a long drive to ring was next but getting past Belgium is never easy killer traffic was a real pain!
On arrival of the Dorint we could see snow everywhere it was 21:00 dark and cold ... roads clear but snow ... o dear.. On speaking to reception we were advised the track would be closed.. Well only one option really ... to the drivers bar. Lots of beer and smokes later it was 02:00 and we were being kicked out so hit the hay.
On waking the roads looked ok and myself and friend decided to nip out and do some filming of the porker as it was still early morning, on passing reception we were advised the track was Open!!! Doh we had not bothered with the ring for rental as were assumed it would be off!! , anyway after warming the 911 up we decided to head to the track.
All trip I had said am not taking the car around, but an opportunity to do the ring in a 911 I could not resist! , what a moment as I headed on the track , as everyone thought it was closed it was dead only seeing a handful of cars, 2 laps later I had done it what a moment!! , lots of great steak to be had at Nurberg itself my fav the Motorsport Padock place up the hill.
The track was open all day and the guys were getting laps in , the Sunday was snowed off and Monday back open so some decent track time tbf, I only did the 2 laps concerned I would break something lol, on leaving the ring we had an epic hoon to Colongo doing some amazing roads Tom had organised!, we chilled in Colongo and then a day in the beautiful Brugges which had some interesting tales of “lock ins” at a local bars , but to say anymore would be breaking the COT rules. The Porker handle like a dream and I learnt more in 1 lap of the ring then I had since ownership.
Until next year!
Anyway chaps enjoy some pictures and vids so far.
