Nurburgring lap

Thanks very much.

You'll be surprised how much difference the KW's make.

You'll be very close to 8 minutes at least
Did you set-up your suspension rather soft...and a bit softer at the rear then the front?

Suspension is quite hard really, however the rear compression is a couple of clicks softer than usual to make the car a little more forgiving...

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm on the middle setting of my Bilstein PSS-10...any harder and it lowers the grip in my experience...but a bit softer at the rear seems to work better.

Ditto - my Ring setting is 6 front and 4 rear (day to day is 2 clicks lower for both).

I did try 10/10 - but it ends up skipping/slewing all over the place (on PSS) and gets very light on crests (especially at 140mph-ish on the bump just before Schwedenkreuz).

Probably don't see anyone else from here at the track as I've usually done 4 or 5 laps by 10am (leave hotel at 7:45, usually get straight onto the track with the car nicely warmed up).

Routine tends to be:
  • 1 or 2 sighting laps
  • 1 quick lap
  • cooldown drive
  • 1 quick lap
  • cooldown
  • 1 quick lap
  • then go off and drive around the area for a few hours
  • have a nice lunch somewhere,
  • go back around 5pm for another 4 or 5 laps before it closes for the evening

Tend to miss most of the fuckwittery and 1-3 hour closures that way.

You also have a Bilstein PSS-10 on your Z4M?
