Ok, have just replaced my number plate lights with the LED ones.

The LEDs themselves have been discussed a few times, but mine came from here

When you use the screwdriver to push the clip in (my left light, the opening in the light was on the right, and so it was on the right light. This seems to vary by car for some reason), you then need to get your fingers around them to pull them out. During this process, you bend the clip out of shape and you will not be able to put it back in the car without "re-doing" the clip again into its original shape.

I have seen this question before on the forum and there is no actual image of what the clip should look like, so I thought I would take a picture of what it should look like.

Easiest is to remove the clip from the light holder altogether (you just press the little pin in the middle of the holder to flatten it and you can slide it out).

So this is the clip after I re-bent it back in a shape how it should be to ensure a good grip. If you don't do it this way, your light will drop down a little at the side where the clip is as it will be pushing the light down if incorrectly bent. I wanted perfection so took my time to make the clip all 100% again.

So this is the clip in the appropriate shape:

And once inserted back in the fitting, it will just click back in its place as the little clip in the middle comes out of the hole in the holder to keep it in place.

The finished look of the holder prior to insertion:

Now it will just click back in properly.

Hate to regurgitate an old post! But the pictures are missing. I have a dodgy clip that I need to reshape again, but not sure what it should look like.

There you go, like we all know, they look nothing like this when you pull them out……

Thanks! I couldn't fathom how they were held in after seeing the mess of the metal upon removal!

Not sure if these style of lights are all the same but the ones I have seen have a slot next to the lens that you put a flat blade screwdriver in and then push it towards the metal clip end. This lets the opposite end drop down without damaging anything.
