The Z4 forum is the perfect place to sell Z4 parts, since the audience perfectly matches the target market of the items I'm selling.

So why pay and waste your time selling to people who aren't interested in the parts you're selling? The forum however is directly advertising to people who own Z4's.

I think what Dave is trying to say is that the forum works due to "Give and Take". If you give a little to the forum, you're welcome to take.
The forum works because people post about their cars, their knowledge and how to help others. People would have no objection to you selling parts if you came on, introduced yourself and your car and generally joined in, but if you're just going to use the forum as a Cash-Cow, I dont think you'll get the best out of it.

People prefer to buy from people they feel they know and have some trust in, especially 2nd hand parts, so do yourself a favour and join in a little. :wink:
 
I have to agree with Dav and Number5 - this isn't Gumtree. You're not breaking any rules, but you're not exactly joining in with the spirit of the forum :wink:

I had a spare one of these which I gladly gave to a active fellow member for free and paid for the postage.

Guys, if you don't like the price, you don't have to buy it. Or alternatively make an offer.

I'm new to this forum business, didn't realise I had to post all about myself first; not a fan of blowing my own trumpet.

Thought I was contributing to the forum by putting parts up for sale that people might want. Prices were also benchmarked to those currently on eBay, so I thought they were reasonable.

Not really sure want I've done wrong to receive so much hatred, when all I've done is post Z4 parts for sale on the "Buy and Sell - Z4 related" section of the forum. Is that not what it's for? Can't understand why people expect me to give stuff away for free when is a "Buy and Sell" page?

Recently I was unfortunate enough to have someone crash into my zed when I wasn't around. Only for me to come back and see it in pieces. With no one as a witness and it being too expensive for me to go through insurance (since I'm a young driver - would sky rocket my insurance) I've been fixing my car myself. 6 weeks on and its nearly there. To try and get some money back from spending £2k on repairs I thought I could sell some of the parts as others may also need them (knowing how hard certain parts are to find and how expensive it is to go to main dealer).

A lot of you speak of forum spirit, but I don't see any here. Why send abuse to a fellow Z4 driver for trying to sell a few parts?

Would appreciate it if we could just ignore what's happened and only comment on this thread if you're genuinely interested in purchasing or suggesting an offer.

I wouldn't take it to heart Ollie , some will rip in , some won't fuss , its forum life
Sure its been discussed many times before & if the Mods see it in bad light then they will step in
Why not throw a few pics up of your car & if needed ask for help or any parts you may be short :thumbsup:

Maybe if the OP explained the situation first then there wouldn't have been any misunderstanding.
We all live and learn.

Maybe start a new thread with pictures of your car in the process of restoring back to health.
