Back from our stay at number 5's lovely appartment.
The appt is located in the lovely swansea marina and overlooks the beach and bay across to the mumbles. It's modern and spacious and has an allocated parking spot under the bedroom window. Access is through a communal entrance serving maybe 6 appartments. Very very quiet with just the noise of the sea to enjoy in the evenings.
The area itself is very quiet during the week and gets busier at weekends. I think the most we counted on the beach at any one time was prob about 20 or so....and the beach is massive when the tide is out.
Theres a lovely flat cycle track/footpath outside all the way to the mumbles pier which is about 10 or 12 miles there and back following the shoreline.
Most mornings I wandered along this path early to the local shop, which is a lovely 10 min walk, to get a paper and enjoy a Costa latte walking back along the marina and it's lovely yachts and motor cruisers. There's hardly a soul about just the joggers and cyclists.
We went to Cardiff which is about 45 mins down the M4 stopping at a designer outlet centre about half way which was well worth a visit. Cardiff was nice. We just used the football stadium park and ride. Nice cafe culture in the centre.
We also went down to the gower peninsula and ended up at the worms head by Rhossili. A lovely walk along the headland then a rocky trek across the causeway when the tide allowed.
I've attached a few camera phone pictures which prob don't do justice to this really lovely relaxing place. Thank you number 5
