NS2R for a daily with 19's

As I work from home I'm not always in the car but it is currently the only car I have so it is a daily.

Anyone use NS2R's road compound as a daily? Reviews on the wear , wet grip ( although I don't mind being a nanny in the wet ) dry grip, noise would be appreciated.

I ran 888's in my vx220 as a part daily and loved it, drive to Thorneys down the M1 for a few hours in pissing rain and no issues.

Thinking a semi road slick would be the way for me

i just posted this elsewhere so ill Copy and paste.

i run the nankang ns2r and tbh... they are awesome, i run the road compound to try and get some usability and they really are fantastic... hard wearing too, grip levels are high enough that you think something is going to break, really progressive to slide and and the steering feel is fantastic with these, i love them!! They are supposed to be pretty decent in the rain too, I've been caught out a couple of times and they haven't felt dangerous, they cost a quarter of a high performance road tyre like PSS but in the dry grip area these wee all over them, sadly they are good for one thing really , track / fast road driving so if you need a more rounded type the PSS is much better in this respect.

They make a racket , like 888s but not as bad, dry grip is some of the best I've ever experienced, can't REALLY comment on the wet performance but they felt OK when I've been caght in a summer shower, they don't like cold weather and will probably send you off in a hedge.

the run WIDE so be careful with your choices, wear is VERY surprising mine have gone more then 10 sprint events now and still have 3.5+mm left, they respond to Neg camber really well to, did notice the tread seemed to turn blue after that last event so I'm wondering if they are going off or have been heat cycled too many times, This season should see them finished off.

last time i checked this were only available in 18s, one of the reasons i no longer run 19s, the semi slick range in 18" is huge...

I Can't really advise on them in 19inch but I run them on my mx5 and I wouldn't want to use anything else the only downside as mentioned is that they are very noisy

these are or were the control tyre for a number of actual race championships... Excellent tyre, was alittle worried about the weight of the z4m on these but they shrug it off very well...

I'm about to get my Elipsoids refurbished, was going to grab some nice 19's and good rubber for summer but really tempted to stick with the Elipsoids and get NS2R's on them and focus on grip rather than looks.

There seems to be a lot of different configurations for the NS2R:

Not sure in reality how much difference there is, but guessing this could impact road noise, performance etc.

So on my OEM ellipsoids Would you suggest going a different size to what i run now? ( 225/40/18 front 255/35/18 i think on rear. Stock sizing )

I don't have that much, I'm on H&R springs and soon to be Koni yellow dampers and it sits pretty low. the tread on the front is pretty much in the arch with a little more ( not much though ) on the rear. I don't have any spacers on. I'm fine with square but definitely couldn't do slight balloon

With the sidewalls being so stiff , you think they would still perform ok being a little smaller width wise?
