Now with pics!

hi
i have now sold my mx5 so a real search starts now , are there any reasons to have a facelift over a preface lift other than price and the mean look of the bumper, ie improved engine uprated roof motor ?, its a late 2007 im gonna look at it, £270 tax so not the real high tax as its only a low use motor and gonna be garaged most of its life with me, its up for £9995 35k on clock heated seats c/control pdc etc
does this look about right or is the earlier models better, ill leave it to u experts to help me if you can
cheers rog

That's a good price for a facelift with such low miles. Be sure the history checks out, hopefully it is in good condition. The facelifts have a completely different engine - in the 2.5Si and 3.0Si at least - with more power. Roof motors - claimed to ave been improved, but many facelifts are starting to fail, so ask how it has been kept (garaged or outdoors ?), has the motor been replaced etc. Check the operation of it too - should be smooth, no sound of straining, and take no more than 14 secs from starting to press the button to the roof locking up or down.

Cheers bing
Don't seem to be many good ones coming up in this neck of the woods at the moment , I'm quite happy to hold on till the right one comes up , I am beginning to fancy a auto as i have never owned one before ;-)

These are the ones the chap took and emailed me to look at , I will take some better ones when the weather picks up !

I gave it a good wash , apart from a tiny scrape at the back wheel arch (touch up only will sort) it's pretty bloody good . The head lamps are a bit discoloured but I am gonna sort as uv coating is shot , tried wet and dry and then polish in a small area and come up like new so will crack on with that hopefully this weekend with a full polish to body work as well .
It has a annoying squeak /rattle above passenger hoop in roof , how do u get to this to lubricate any ideas ?
I have to sort out the wipers not returning quite to bottom of screen , seems common and a easy fix , this was all factored in to price so pretty chuffed right now .
I was worried I should have gone for the 3 litre but I pretty happy with it compared to the mx5 performance , since I started looking I really love the look of the coupe so if I change that will be my next move , but I just want to enjoy this at the moment ;-)

Hi mate
Yes it was he's a nice guy and know him tho work.
It was yours I saw for sale it was going thro mot at frampton motors , he was then on he look for me this one came up the interior is different to want I wanted and looks great in the flesh after a test drive I thought the 2.5 is fairly quick and enough or now, perhaps a coupe next year if I get fed up with a convertible , especially if we have a crap summer again.
You pleased with yours it looked very nice .
Cheers rog

Hi jonny
Yes it is silver not a good quality side on picture , the polish will be out tommoz and ill get some better pictures on here , typical since a bought it wether has been crap on days off !
Cheers rog

Cheers jonny
I'll see how I get on tommoz looking forward to a bonding session with it , I have only drove it in the dark so far really , I think a quick blast up the m4 tommoz just to blow off e dust before wash and polish ;-)
Cheers rog

Very pleased! Only major niggle is the passenger rear speaker is completely screwed; I got one for cheap but replacing it means dismantling half of the interior :(

Oh that's a pisser but could be worse i suppose ! Ask advice here there might be some easier way around it . Im Glad you got it it looked really nice ,if it was a first car I probably would have spent 10 k seems all works out in the end.
The wipers on mine are not returning to base of screen I said to James about the fix on here he reduced the price by £50 for me to do it so I got it for £4950 in the end for a weekend motor absolute bargain if I have to do a few things I'm quids in really , it's a hobby to me so I don't mind a bit of tinkering , I have the warranty so if the wiper motor is gone I will get it done on warranty . :D

Excellent! I got the warranty too, seemed worthwhile. I traded in my E46 for it and he gave me a great price so I couldn't turn it down!

Yep seems a nice chap , you have to be nowadays to get repeat business and word of mouth best form of advertising !
Enjoy it mate I know I will , day off tomozz and I feel a bit of tinkering coming on !
