Now very Happy with my E89 35is purchase

Valencia looks great...

But Melbourne red is probably my favourite colour on the E89..

Mines space grey, but if I had the choice it would have been Melbourne ha ha

I know you have had some doubts but your car does look absolutely stunning - agree a bit with the wing mirrors but that doesn't detract from the overall effect . I don't know what it is about a red car but , to my eyes , it always makes any car look good - well almost - perhaps not a red Yugo ( showing my age now )

I think the Orange is a bit of a "marmite" colour.
Red/ Blue / Silver etc won't offend most tastes.

If youv'e got it flaunt it I say. The 35is is not exactly an understated car.

I would have loved to have driven one with a manual gearbox, the auto box ruined it completely for me. That and the rear looks unfortunately made it a non starter for me.

DCT... Not really an auto... :poke:

If it overrides my choices, it is an auto in my book. Doubt anyone even uses it as anything but an auto box.

Oh right...

It works nothing like an automatic gearbox...But if you miss pressing the clutch up and down, then fair enough..

Use my paddles sometimes.

But as I've mentioned elsewhere the DCT is much faster at putting the 35iS in the right gear than I ever am

It certainly is, but I miss trying my best to get it right, that is my challenge on every drive, and that is my fun when I sometimes do get it perfect.

i love my 35is more than my m never thought I would hear me say that .
but it is one hell of a drive ,but hey everyone to there own :driving:

The only time it's in D is when I forgot to move the shifter over to M/S.

Well as it's in the wrong gear 80% of the time I'm not cruising it needs to be damn quick about getting the right gear.

It's great to have the choice. When in traffic or city centres auto is a big plus but when on the open road driving the twisty stuff then the paddles come into their own. There is nothing like the sound of a 35is with the top down approaching a junction or a sharp bend and dropping two or three gears quickly using the paddles. The burbling from the exhausts sounds like they should be spitting flames. The change is far faster and smoother than any manual I have driven
