Now the tinting begins

I received my new set of clear rear lights and clear side repeaters today so now I have the task of masking and tinting the red rears.
The rear lights have the mirrored film bulbs in so you cant see the colour of the bulb through the lights except the fog bulb but you can't even see that, even though its a red bulb. The set even comes with new foam tape to stick the French fries back on.

I will apply the red tint myself but might get a pro to lacquer them because I don't think you get such a shiny finish with lacquer from a can.

I'm unsure whether to get some carbon badges for the side repeaters before I put them on, opinions?

Did you take the masking for the indicators off after applying the tint and then lacquer over the whole lot or did you leave the masking on and just lacquer over the tint. If you just lacquered the tint did it leave a stepped edge where it meets the indicator?

Where did you get them from out of interest?

I got them from here, only took couple days to come.

I took the tape off after tinting and covered the whole lot in clear lacquer.

I guess the whole point is that you want clear inners?

Lamin-X also does a good job of tinting

4 white spots.

My mate told me about Lamin-x today.

I'm actually considering putting mine back to standard form!

I had them all clear on my last Z and liked them but I don't think it would work on my blue Z. But I'm gonna give it a try.

My last one.

I wasn't too keen on them when clear on my sterling grey z4. They do look great in the image terry posted with the hardtop and aero diffuser though.

So much better like this, in my opinion:
