On the back of recommendations on here I took my car to Autotech Performance in Telford, to investigate this ticking noise. Well I'm not exagerating, that was by far the best overall experience I've ever had, for any car I've owned.

Peter is so knowledgeable about BMWs. I watched customers come and go and Peter answer their questions / queries without hesitation. When it come to my turn he didn't rush, really took his time to try to work out what my issue was (even though he was extremely busy) He drove my car and within a few minutes was convinced it was a blow in the exhaust. The ramps were full so he asked if I could come back later. When I arrived back he spent the next hour trying to figure where the blow was coming from. I didn't leave until gone 6.30pm. At even at that time he then plugged in his computer thing-a-me bob and turned on loads of settings for me, taking time to explain them all.

His premises are very clean, he has all top notch equipment, obviously hasn't cut corners anywhere. Even him and his mechanics are presented very well, like what you'd expect when walking into a Bentley service centre.

So if there is anyone within a reasonable distance of Telford I would bet good money that if you take your car there you won't be taking it anywhere else again. They're 120 miles from me but for any significant jobs I'll be making the journey

Just wish he was closer to Liverpool, I'd use him for all my 'M' servicing. Really nice bloke as well. Did he sort it in the end?

That's no excuse :x

Imagine all the fun you could have on the Welsh roads on the way there & back.

BTW, my ///M specialist (and friend) is a boring 500 mile motorway/dual-carriageway round trip in Essex - although I usually plan a whole weekend around the trip

mmm-five you're quite right of course! :) Thing is other than getting him to programme the roof to close off the key fob I've not needed anything else doing to the car so far.

once you find people that care for you cat and treat you properly stick with them.... ive been using simpsons since my car was new.... awesome people, and it take me 2+ hours to get their but its WELL worth the effort imo.... plus you cant beat a long drive out.

I have been going to Pete for a few years now. Always top notch service (and he is very reasonable for labor costs) & he is extremely knowledgeable. He knew what size roll bar bushes I needed for my z4 (sports package) from the top of his head. So yeah great guy, people at work think I'm daft though, it's approx 161 miles ONE way for me to get there. In fact I'm due to have shocks/springs replaced soon by him. Once that's done then I'll sign up for that London meet.
